On January 20, 2026, the Baden-Württemberg Tourism Innovation Award was presented at CMT in Stuttgart under the motto “Boldly Shaping the Future.”
We are delighted that elysium® was awarded 2nd place in the “Smart Technology” category.
For us, this recognition is about much more than an award. It highlights a challenge that guides and tour operators face every day: communicating with international groups.
As soon as multiple languages are involved in a guided tour, the flow is often interrupted by ad hoc interpreting, follow-up questions, and waiting times. This is exactly where elysium® comes in: the guide’s voice is streamed live to participants’ smartphones and, when needed, translated in real time. The jury specifically recognized this live translation feature as a forward-looking innovation.
What does this mean for guides and tour operators?
- Smoother group communication, with no need for parallel interpreting.
- Support for more languages without additional interpreters, as translations are delivered directly to each guest.
- A more seamless tour experience, thanks to fewer interruptions and delays.
Congratulations also to the other winners: 1st place in the “Smart Technology” category was awarded to Mainau GmbH, while the “Smart Structures” category was won by Erlebnisregion Europa-Park. Recognizing innovative ideas like these helps move the entire tourism industry forward.
