elysium® at the QTA Travel Summer: The App as a Loudspeaker Replacement

On November 2, 2024, we participated as a sponsor at QTA Travel Summer 2024 in Halle 45, Mainz. This was the largest sales event in the tourism industry this year, bringing together 1,150 participants and 120 exhibitors. For us, it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our solution to a broad audience while simultaneously supporting the event in a new and modern way: elysium® as a Silent PA system.

Our role was to ensure clear audio transmission during presentations on both the main stage and the secondary stage, known as the "Dome" – all without traditional loudspeaker systems. With the elysium® app, we demonstrated how simple and flexible sound reinforcement can be. Instead of using loudspeakers, we implemented a Silent PA solution where attendees could receive the audio directly through their own smartphones.

Seamless Implementation

The setup was incredibly straightforward: QR codes were placed at multiple locations throughout the hall, allowing participants to scan and connect to the current speaker within seconds. In the lively atmosphere of the venue, where networking and discussions were ongoing, this was a significant advantage. Each attendee could listen to the presentation at their preferred volume without being affected by background noise.

Of course, we also considered those who forgot their headphones. We provided disposable headphones and adapters on-site, ensuring that everyone could participate in the presentations. This option was communicated in advance via email to prepare attendees as best as possible.

Throughout the event, we experienced firsthand the positive reception of the elysium® solution. Here are the main advantages that stood out to us and the participants:

• No disruptive loudspeakers: The solution significantly reduced noise emissions in the hall, allowing parallel conversations and activities to continue.

• Personalized volume control: Each listener could adjust the speaker volume according to their preference.

• Ease of use: Scanning the QR code was quick, and the livestream connection worked reliably.

• Reduced technical complexity: For event organizers, using elysium® meant less effort, eliminating the need for loudspeakers and complex wiring setups.

• Hygienic solution: Since each attendee used their own smartphone and headphones, the setup was not only flexible but also particularly hygienic.

For us, it was exciting to see the versatility of our app. Originally developed for guided group tours, the QTA Travel Summer demonstrated that elysium® could also be a valuable tool for large events such as conferences, trade fairs, or festivals.

Positive Feedback and Event Highlights

We were particularly impressed by the feedback from participants. Many praised the ability to clearly hear presentations despite the bustling atmosphere of the hall. They also appreciated the flexibility that elysium® provided, enabling them to switch between sessions or engage in conversations without missing important content.

Event organizers also benefited from our solution. The ability to manage multiple stages simultaneously without extensive technical installations was a significant advantage. This reinforced our belief that elysium® contributes to making events more efficient and modern.

The QTA Travel Summer not only showcased technological innovations but also featured an engaging program. Topics such as "Artificial Intelligence," "Sustainability," and "Women in Leadership" took center stage, while the "Young Community" program catered specifically to the next generation of travel sales professionals. In the evening, musical performances by Glasperlenspiel and DJ Robin Knaak provided a lively conclusion, making the venue come alive.
