elysium® Live Translation: How It Works in 5 Easy Steps

Show a QR code, your group connects, you speak: that's how simply elysium® Live Translation translates your tours live for international groups – no interpreter needed.

Live-translated tours sound like complicated technology – but they're not. With elysium® Live Translation, all you need is your smartphone to make lectures, city tours, or factory tours understandable for your group in real time, in over 29 languages. No interpreter, no headset rental, no preparation. Ideal if you regularly guide international groups without having to book separate staff for every language. We'll show you how it works in 5 steps.

Step 1: How do you start the stream?

You open a new session through the elysium® Live Translation  and receive a personal QR code for it. The code stays permanently linked to your account and can be exported, printed, or shown directly on screen – for example, on a sign at the meeting point or on your presentation slide.

Step 2: How does your group join the session?

Your participants simply scan the QR code with their smartphone camera. No download or registration is required – they land directly in the browser and are connected. This works with both Android and iOS devices, as long as there's an internet connection. One restriction applies to you as the guide: your own smartphone needs at least Android 9 – your group isn't affected by this.

Step 3: How does your group choose the right language?

After scanning, each participant individually selects from over 29 languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese. If your group changes during the tour, anyone can switch their language at any time – you don't need to worry about it.

Step 4: How well does your translation come across?

As soon as you speak, your group hears the translation with a short delay of usually 5 to 10 seconds – comparable to a human interpreter. Under good conditions, elysium® Live Translation achieves up to 98.5% accuracy. Headphones aren't strictly necessary for your participants, but they make for noticeably more comfort, especially in loud environments. Quality depends on two factors: how clearly you speak and how stable the internet connection is on site. In loud environments or with a weak connection, the delay may run a little longer – in that case, speak a bit slower and more clearly.

Step 5: How flexible does your tour stay?

Participants can leave the session at any time and rejoin later, switch languages, or adjust the volume themselves – without you having to step in. For you, that means: you focus on your tour while everyone in the group manages their own language. Every stream you start also begins with 15 free minutes.

Do you need to install an app?

For you as the guide: yes, you use the elysium® app to start your session. Your group, on the other hand, doesn't need an app – Live Translation runs directly in the mobile browser on their smartphones, with no app store, installation, or storage space required. This lowers the barrier especially for spontaneous groups, where not everyone wants to or can download an app beforehand.

Who is elysium® Live Translation right for?

Whether you guide factory tours, university lectures, city tours, or school classes with mixed language skills: wherever your group speaks different languages and hiring an interpreter would be too expensive or too much effort, elysium® Live Translation handles the real-time translation for you – no extra hardware, no scheduling with interpreters.
