Management and group

Navigate to the "Home" screen at the bottom center of the elysium app, tap "+Add listener" and follow the instructions on your smartphone. 

A maximum of 1000 listeners can participate in a guided tour at the same time. If you have a need for larger group sizes, please let us know here.

The duration of a guided tour is currently limited to 12 hours. After this time, the tour will automatically end and the group will be disbanded. Longer valid licenses will be integrated in a future version of elysium.

Multiple guides in parallel in one tour, so called co-guides, are not possible at the moment. This feature will be integrated in a future version of elysium.

 

Removing a single listener from your group is currently not possible. This feature will be integrated in a future version of elysium. However, your listener can leave your audio stream via the browser. This is a frequently asked question, and we are working to address it in our updates.

You can easily change your QR-Code in the menu under "Your QR code".

 

The QR code is permanently assigned to your account and is static, i.e. it does not change. This gives you the option of printing out your QR code, for example, so that your listeners can scan it more easily from a distance. Don't forget to create a group in the app beforehand, otherwise your listeners will receive a 500 server error in their browser.

Yes – for this, you need the "Open Access" feature. We enable this option upon request, allowing your participants to join instantly without manual approval.

elysium® is designed specifically for live voice transmission – spontaneous playback from a second smartphone isn’t supported.
However, you can feed in external audio sources like music or sound effects using a mixing console or similar hardware. This setup is more suitable for stationary use, such as events or installations, and not recommended for mobile tours.

No, live translation is not included in elysium® as standard. However, it can be provided as an additional option on request - ideal for international groups.

After joining the group, participants choose their preferred language.
The guide’s spoken words are then translated in real time using AI.

The AI translates exactly what is said - without any adjustments to the content. The clearer (grammatically correct and complete) the sentence, the better the translation.

As the AI processes complete sentences first, there is usually a short delay of 5-10 seconds - similar to human interpreters. However, as soon as the first sentence is recognised, you can continue speaking fluently - no pauses are necessary.

Factors such as internet connection, device performance and Bluetooth headsets influence the latency. Under optimal conditions, the accuracy is up to 98.5 %. The language combination also affects the speed and quality.

No, real-time translation requires a stable internet connection for both the guide and the listeners.

Yes, after joining the group, listeners can select their preferred language themselves – and switch anytime if needed.

No. Translation is handled fully automatically and in real time. You simply speak as usual – elysium® takes care of the rest.

All you need is:

  • A smartphone
  • A stable internet connection

Optional: a microphone or headset for better sound quality. Participants only need a smartphone (browser).

Important: The Live Translation feature is not included by default. Please contact us in advance – we will activate the feature for you individually.

Yes, elysium® is designed for groups from a few to several hundred people. The audio transmission remains stable – whether it's a city tour or a large event.

While elysium® is not a one-to-one replacement for professional human interpreters, it offers a powerful and cost-effective alternative in many scenarios. Especially for informal tours, multilingual groups, events, or spontaneous settings, elysium® enables smooth and instant communication – without the need for additional interpreters or technical equipment.

Yes, with elysium®, this is easily possible. You lead your tour in one language – for example, in German – and the app translates your spoken sentences in real time into English (or any other selected language), streaming them directly to each participant’s smartphone.
Every guest can individually choose the language they want to hear. This way, one single tour becomes understandable for everyone – without the need for an additional interpreter.

The clearer and more structured you speak, the better the translation will be. If you speak very quickly, quietly or indistinctly, the AI will find it more difficult to recognise the sentence or interpret it incorrectly.

For optimum results:

  • speak in short, complete sentences
  • make sure your pronunciation is clear
  • make small pauses between sentences

This keeps the translation precise and understandable - and minimises latency.

The translation is delivered with only a short delay of a few seconds.
As soon as a complete sentence is detected, the elysium® app starts playing the translated version in the selected language.

The clearer and more concise your sentences are, the faster they will be translated.
While one sentence is being played back, the next is already being processed – ensuring a nearly seamless communication flow.

The average consumption is about 20 MB per hour. For comparison: 10 minutes of radio streaming consumes approx. 10 MB

Depending on the age of the battery and smartphone, the consumption is about 5 - 10% per hour.

No, your listeners do not need an app. The audio stream is received via the Internet browser, which is available on every smartphone.

 

elysium cannot be used without internet. You can provide internet to your guests via an optional mobile router, should individual guests not have internet available.

 

After your voice has been captured by the microphone of your smartphone, or better by an optional headset, it is transmitted as a digital audio stream via the Internet to the smartphones of the listeners in your group.

 

It is currently not possible to ask questions via elysium. This feature will be integrated in a future version of elysium.

Credit and payment

The cost of a tour depends on the number of listeners. One licence is charged for each listener in the group. You can find the current prices in the In-App Store or here.

Instead of purchasing licences in advance, you can first invite listeners to your waiting room. As soon as all participants are there, elysium will suggest the next appropriate licence package for you to purchase. Pay and do.

 

Since the payment within the app is handled via the in-app purchases, you can use the payment methods that you have stored with the operating system operator of your smartphone - Google or Apple. These include payment via credit card, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Troubleshooting

Check if your microphone is connected correctly. Re-establish the connection if necessary. If the Internet connection is lost, a message appears in the app

First check the volume setting on the listener's smartphone. Then check whether the listener has connected his headphones correctly. If necessary, re-establish the connection. If the Internet connection is interrupted, a corresponding message is displayed in the listener's browser window.

A minimal time delay - the so-called latency - is due to technical reasons. The newer the smartphone of you and your listener, the better.

 

First check whether your headphones are connected correctly. If the problem persists: Briefly disconnect and reconnect.

Tip: It's best to connect the headphones before scanning the QR code - then your browser app will recognise the headphones in advance.

 

A minimal time delay - called latency - is due to technical reasons.

 

Check the listener's internet connection. If the Internet connection is lost, a message to that effect is displayed in the listener's browser window.
